On April 7, 2026, the traditional international conference “Farabi World” for students and young scientists was held at the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Within the framework of this large-scale scientific event, the session of Section 2, “Animal Biodiversity, Ecology, and Morphology,” was organized.

The section demonstrated a high level of scientific activity among young researchers. In total, 77 abstracts were submitted, of which 52 were selected and accepted. The participants included a wide range of research organizations and higher education institutions, such as the “Fisheries Scientific-Production Center” LLP, the International Scientific and Practical Center for Ecology, Tourism, and Sustainable Development, the Institute of Hydrobiology and Ecology, as well as participants from Mirzo Ulugbek National University of Uzbekistan. Students and graduate students of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University submitted the majority of accepted abstracts.

The session was chaired by PhD, Senior Lecturer Sayat Ermakhanbetovich Sharakhmetov. Moderators included Prof., D.Sc. Sabyr Temirgalievich Nurtazin, PhD, Assoc. The section secretary was Senior Lecturer Saltanat Sabyrzhanqyzy Maulenova.

During the session, a total of six oral presentations were delivered, all of which were submitted by students of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The presentations covered current scientific issues in the fields of animal biodiversity, parasitology, ecology, and morphology.

Based on the session results, the best scientific works were identified and awarded.

The 1st degree diploma was awarded to 2nd-year students Ilnur Amrazhanovich Tairov and Dilbara Renatovna Abdreimova for their presentation “Usage of Artificial Intelligence in the Digitization of Histological Images.” Scientific supervisor – PhD, Assoc. Prof. I.M. Zharkova.
