Literary Evening on the Theme: “As Boundless as the Blue Sea”

On 6 April 2026, as part of SDG 4 “Quality Education”, the Department of Kazakh Literature and Theory of Literature held a literary evening on the theme: “As Boundless as the Blue Sea”. The event featured a meeting with the renowned Kazakh writer Bakhytbek Bamishuly. The organisers of the creative evening were Candidate of Philological Sciences, Assistant Professor S.B. Tleubayev, Senior Lecturer G. Akhmetalieva. The event was actively attended by the Acting Head of the Department of Kazakh Literature and Theory of Literature, Candidate of Philological Sciences S.D. Daribaev; the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Philology for Educational Work, Sh.A. Shortanbay, Higher Doctorate of Philological Sciences, Full Professor Z.N. Seitzhanov, Higher Doctorate of Philological Sciences, Full Professor A.B. Temirbolat, Senior Lecturer B.B. Bayazitov, and third-year students specialising in “Literary Studies”. They discussed and analysed the poetic and prose works of Bakhytbek Bamishuly, noting his artistic mastery and the distinctive features of his language and style. Particular attention was paid to the themes of the writer’s work. The students demonstrated a high level of proficiency in the scientific methods of literary text analysis and a genuine interest in contemporary Kazakh literature. The event took the form of an open dialogue.

The evening proved to be a significant event for the students and lecturers of the Faculty of Philology. It highlighted the importance of supporting the younger generation in the study and promotion of Kazakh literature. Those attending the event expressed their gratitude to the organisers for the opportunity to speak with the writer in person and gain invaluable experience for their future academic and creative endeavours.
