The first Quantum AI laboratory in the country has been launched at KazNU
The opening ceremony of the Quantum AI laboratory was held at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The new research and educational center, established on the basis of the Faculty of Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence, was launched as a unique and unparalleled innovation center in the country.

The large-scale project was implemented with the support of the international technology company SpinQ Technology (PRC), specializing in the production of advanced quantum systems.

Seven modern quantum computing systems have been delivered to the new center. These are the only quantum computers in Kazakhstan at the moment. The unique equipment will allow students and researchers to conduct training classes and laboratory work at a high level, carry out complex research projects, and develop unique machine learning algorithms.

Speaking at the solemn event, Chairman of the Board – Rector of KazNU Zhanseit Tuimebayev emphasized that this step plays a crucial role in transforming the university into a world-class research center. "Currently, artificial intelligence, big data, and quantum computing are defining a new direction for global science and economics. The integration of quantum technologies and AI opens up opportunities for solving complex problems in cryptography, medicine, and modeling of complex systems that were previously beyond the capabilities of classical computers",- said the university's head.

In his speech, the rector expressed confidence that the course towards uniting education, science, and production will continue, and the results of the laboratory's work will contribute to strengthening our country's technological sovereignty.

According to Timur Imankulov, Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence, domestic specialists are fully prepared to work with advanced equipment. The new laboratory will serve as an open platform where senior students can participate in real-world production projects alongside experienced mentors. This facility will significantly enhance the competitiveness of the faculty's graduates in the international job market.
At the event, the public was presented with a detailed overview of the Quantum AI laboratory and plans for developing unique machine learning algorithms.
