The KazNU Young Mathematicians Competition has come to an end

The final stage of the national project "Olympic Academy" for schoolchildren has been completed at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. 1408 gifted students from all regions of the country have tested their knowledge and logical thinking within the walls of the university campus.

The final stage focused on a comprehensive assessment of students' mathematical knowledge, logical thinking, and teamwork skills.

Askar Zhumadildayev, an outstanding mathematician and academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, who participated in the event, emphasized that such initiatives are crucial for increasing the interest of young people in science. "In order to become a technologically advanced and competitive country in the future, we need to provide high-quality mathematics education starting from elementary school. The key is to engage children in this subject",- said the academician.

According to the results of the competition, students who showed the highest scores in the individual competition were awarded valuable prizes, including the latest models of iPhone smartphones. In addition, the best mentors who led their students to the finals and demonstrated their professional skills were recognized.

Next year, the organizers plan to expand the project's scope and increase the total prize pool to 20 million tenge. Additionally, the main novelty of the upcoming season will be the gift of an apartment to the coach who has trained the best student. Irysbek Mauit, an excellent teacher in Kazakhstan, emphasized that this move is a tribute of special respect for the teachers' work.

The Olympic Academy is a large-scale platform aimed at shaping the mathematical culture of school-age children, awakening a passion for science and technology at an early age. The course of the competition and the emotions of the participants were on par with professional sports finals, which once again proved the special significance of the project.
