Partnership in the field of global sustainable development has expanded
A representative of al-Farabi Kazakh National University took part in the World Congress on Sustainable Development, which was held in Jakarta (Indonesia). Dilara Urmanova, Director of the Ban Ki-moon Institute for Sustainable Development, presented the university at one of the largest international venues, bringing together scientists, experts, representatives of international organizations and universities from around the world.
The forum's program included 365 thematic sessions on climate change, environmental security, education transformation, and achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The Congress has become a platform for exchanging the best international practices and discussing new approaches to the development of science, education and environmental policy.

During the congress, meetings were held with representatives of the Times higher Education, the sulitest international platform, the United Nations University Institute for Advanced Study (UNU-ias) and the UI GreenMetric global rating. The prospects for joint research, the development of educational initiatives and the expansion of international partnership were discussed. One of the key outcomes was an agreement with sulitest to include the test results of KazNU students in the annual report of the United Nations, presented in New York. This decision will make it possible to present the university's experience in promoting Sustainable Development Goals at the international level and will be another confirmation of the effectiveness of the work carried out.

The experience of the University of Manchester, one of the world leaders in the field of sustainable development, aroused particular interest. The presented approaches to the development of the university environment, scientific research and educational programs are planned to be used in the implementation of new projects and improvement of KazNU's sustainable development strategy. Participation in the congress also opened up new opportunities for cooperation with international experts and scientific centers. The agreements reached cover the development of interdisciplinary research, academic mobility, joint educational programs and projects aimed at addressing current environmental and social challenges.
