KazNU students completed an internship in China

At the official invitation of the Chongqing College of Electric Power Engineering, the students learned about advanced international technologies in the field of energy, modern solutions in the field of electric power engineering, renewable energy sources, and digitalization of production processes.

During the rich internship program, the participants studied the scientific and production base of the new high-tech campus of the college, which was put into operation in 2023, and also took an active part in practical classes held in specialized laboratories. In the wind energy laboratory, the undergraduates worked with training stands designed to visualize the processes of converting wind energy into electrical energy.

In the hydrogen technology laboratory, students studied promising areas of hydrogen production, safe storage, and efficient use in the rapidly developing green energy sector. Additionally, in the unmanned aerial vehicle laboratory, they learned about the design and configuration of drones used for remote monitoring of power lines and large energy facilities. In the relay protection and automation laboratory, the students mastered the simulation of digital automation systems for substations and process control.

The highly effective training model implemented by Chongqing College is based on close dual integration with China's leading energy corporations, such as State Grid Chongqing Electric Power Company and China Huadian Corporation. This approach effectively combines academic training with practical experience in real-world industries.
As a result of their internship, the students came up with an initiative to expand the university's scientific and educational potential. They proposed establishing a specialized wind energy laboratory at KazNU, equipped with modern research facilities for modeling energy generation processes. According to the authors of the initiative, this project would be an important step in the development of the Industry Center for Technological Competencies.
