KazNU and TÜRGAD Discuss New Areas of Cooperation

On 14 July, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted Olgunay Köse, a correspondent of the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT) and President of the Association of Radio and Television Journalists of the Turkic World (TÜRGAD). The meeting focused on exploring future cooperation between KazNU and the newly established international professional association, which brings together representatives of the media industry and the academic community across the Turkic world.
During the meeting with A.K. Galeeva, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, the parties discussed opportunities for expanding student and faculty academic mobility, conducting joint research, publishing in international scholarly journals, and organizing international conferences, forums, and masterclasses involving leading journalists and academics from media and communication schools.
Olgunay Köse also visited the Faculty of Journalism, where he toured the television studio and specialized laboratories. The discussions continued on current trends in journalism education, the digital transformation of the media industry, and opportunities for implementing joint initiatives.
TÜRGAD is being established as an international platform to strengthen cooperation among journalists, researchers, and universities across the Turkic states. Its key priorities include fostering professional dialogue, supporting collaborative educational and research projects, strengthening academic partnerships, and promoting high standards of journalism.
The selection of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University as one of TÜRGAD's first international partners reflects the mutual interest of both sides in building long-term academic and professional cooperation. Following the Association's official launch, the parties intend to continue their collaboration through joint educational, research, and expert initiatives aimed at strengthening ties between universities and the professional media community of the Turkic world.
